Hi All! We had great conditions on the ocean this weekend. It wasn't glass but it was the closest I've seen it this season.
Saturday AM we hit the Mohawk with some folks from the Explorers Club. Viz was 20 feet on the bottom with temps in the high 50's. A large leatherback turtle paid us a visit during our surface interval. Sat PM Pennsylvania Special was well attended by some divers from Underwater World. We headed to the Pinta. Viability was reported as 15 feet with temps on the high 50's. We grilled during the surface interval. It was a really relaxing evening.
Sun AM we had some advanced students from ProDive in Neptune. We hit a spot on the local reef which was loaded with seabass, tog, scup etc. Very fishy overall. I plan to hit this site again next Sat for the Pennsylvania Special. Viz was murky on top but was amazingly good on the bottom.
Our Schedule for this week is as follows:
Wed 6pm 1 tank local reef
Fri 8am 3 tank (scallops anyone?)
Sat 7am 2 tank 90 feet or less
Sat 3pm Pennsylvania Special 90 feet or less (bring a spear!)
Sun 7am Treasure Cove Divers - Stolt - Call RJ to see if any spots remain (908) 654-8808
Call Henrik to reserve your spot for all other trips 917-836-5354
Tight lines! Stingray will be serving coffee starting this coming weekend. October is one of the best months to dive in the Northeast. The water is warm and the air is nice and cool.
