A few of us got out Friday and were greeting by fairly calm seas with a 3 to 4 ft swell spaced pretty far apart. We first tried the Gulf Trade Bow but found only about 3 ft of vis so we moved offshore a bit. As we got further out the wind picked up and the chop a little bit worse.
We ended up at a steel wreck in about 90 ft . The vis there was about a cloudy 10 ft at the good spots and less less in other spots. It did not seem to matter if you were on the bottom or top of the wreck. Stan did some digging and ended up with about 20 keys ( door lock keys?) and some other interesting brass items. Bart came back with a lot of seafood. Bottom temp was about 59.
Next we hit one of the ballast piles in the same area. Vis was a little less but still some nice sea food came up. By now the wind had let up a bit and we has an easy ride back to the slip.
Nice day on the water with a mostly full cooler.
