We have decided to initiate a voluntary recall on the Zeagle GRACE and ELEMENT model BCD’s. The welded seams of the buoyancy bladder may weaken prematurely with use and leak air suddenly causing loss of flotation, causing a drowning hazard. PLEASE STOP USING THESE BCD’S IMMEDIATELY. These BCD’s must be returned to your authorized Zeagle retailer or the Zeagle Factory for replacement. This recall is being done in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Affected units: All Zeagle Grace and Element BCD’s.
Reported incidents: We have received 1 report of seam failure causing loss of flotation. No injuries have been reported.
What you should do: If you own one of these BCD’s stop using it. At the present time, there is no option for repair and no schedule for replacement of the Grace or Element model BCD’s. For this reason, Zeagle is offering an upgrade to you at no cost, for any Grace or Element BCD, one of the following Zeagle models - as inventory permits. These models may be significantly different in features and use from your Grace or Element. Details on these models can be found on the Zeagle website www.zeagle.com or you can ask your authorized Zeagle retailer for details and assistance in selecting a replacement model. This list may change from time to time, with other models becoming available in the future. The current models available are:
You may take your BCD to any authorized Zeagle retailer or contact Huish Outdoors at (888)-270-8595 to initiate your replacement. You may also email the factory at this address: email@example.com. If you contact the factory directly you will need to provide the model and serial number of the BCD you currently have, as well as the model and size you would like to have as a replacement. An RMA will be issued for your Grace or Element BCD and we can make arrangements to send out your replacement BCD.
