Ocean Wreck Divers left the Manasquan Inlet on the Blue Fathoms to find clear skies and 2 ft seas, destination the Tolten. We tied into the stern section. The surface still has the warm murk layer down to 30 ft but the vis on the bottom was good, a dark but clear 20+ ft, depth 95 ft, 53F. Once my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I changed my plan from lobsters to sightseeing and had a nice tour. The other divers stuck to lobstering and several were boated. No fluke were sighted.
The 2nd dive was the Veronica tug. We were trying to think of a busted up tug- the Veronica is not it! It is a nice big tug tho, 110 ft long, loaded with mussels. 83 ft, 57F, vis 20 ft. Some allegedly edible black things came up (maybe with hot sauce
). Another great day of diving!
