The "Deep Flooded Mine" aka "King of Shadows" got it's "King" nickname in the 1800's, when many miners were killed during while the site was in operation from 1810-1897. The name carried over to present day, as many bodies have been thrown in to evade discovery by authorities. We know of three, the most recent was a young woman killed in 1995, and thrown in by a jail house confessed rapist, boasting to his cellmate years back, although he never admitted to police. While we have been busy with tunnels and vehicles we have located, the search for Robin has been ongoing in my forty dives at this site. In this video, we have a concerted effort with three CCR divers searching a suspected region where the remains might be found. A true needle in a needlestack, as she is covered in twenty years of leaves and silt. We persist, to help find closure for the family which some of who still live nearby. Speaking for myself, I think this is the most worthwhile endeavor I have attempted in my twenty years of diving. My buddies concur, and search continues tomorrow. Wish us luck, we need some...
