Well, NOAA definitely had it right today. Wind out of the NE at 10-15+ knots and seas were nothing short of 3-4'+ (a lot of +'s!). Capt. Bill got us out there in good time and Capt. Bart tied us in so there would be absolutely no chance we would pull out (believe me, I had to try and untie it). Surface vis was nice, but it was pretty dark on the bottom with about 10' vis on the bottom. I had 60F at depth and 73F on the hang. A lot of short fluke were seen out in the sand again but several keeper fluke were caught on the first dive. After spending my dive looking for my lost polespear from a week ago (unsuccessfully looking, if I may add), I ventured back toward the wreck and noticed some doormats laying in the sand patches in the wreck. This is where Pawel had caught several nice flatties the week prior. Armed with only my trusted titanium dive knife, I was unable to stab quickly enough as each and every one swam away flipping me finger withtheir tails. Once back on the boat, I relayed my observations to those going in for their second dive which resulted in several of those doormats being invited to dinner this evening ranging in size from 24"-29". A number of lobster and winter flounder were also caught as well.
As far as diving this week, I heard we already had 4 divers signed up for Saturday. Sign up early and often by calling the shop at 610-631-2288!
