Today it was just 4 of us on the boat. We all took along 3 tanks and planned on a bunch of stops.
Our first stop was on a crappy wooden wreck (33 minute wreck) in about 90feet, that has been mostly covered over the past few years. Jim ( who just started to catch lobster ) came up with a nice bag full. Then John came up with an even bigger bag full. Next Jack came up with a nice bag full. I was not even going to dive it but seeing all those bugs gave me lobster fever and I jumped in and came up with a few more. Our first dive we had 19 lobster up to 3.5lbs and some sea bass. The wreck is still mostly buried but the lobster were everywhere. I think since there were not many hiding places for lobster that we cleaned it off pretty good. Bottom temp felt warm in a wetsuit and vis was 25ft
Next stop was a small snag that I jumped in on and got a few more lobster and sea bass.
Next stop was a low metal wreck in about 60ft and the vis dropped off to about 7 ft and some fluke came up.
Next was another very small spot where I jumped in and found one lobster.Vis was only about 3 ft (same area)
Last stop was a beach wreck and the vis was great at about 25 ft. Not much came up just some triggers.
It was nice to have a satisfying catch for a change. Total: 3 sea bass, 4 triggers, 23 lobster, one winter flounder, 3 fluke, one ling. Needless to say everyone went home with some nice seafood. Just a note: We have not been seeing the big numbers of fluke we had in years past. We have been getting a few but not the big numbers we are used to.
No one had a camera so we made due with a GoPro
