Saturday John Eells and I did bottom sounder work at the mine site using an inflatable. Mixed results, I feel the heavy particulate is having an effect on the depth finder. We mowed the lawn for about two hours, and finally dropped a shot line that went 325'. On our way back to the dive platform, as I was about to shut off the machine, John spotted it spiking to 300, 325, 350 and finally 370', but we had no shot line on board. At the platorm, I rigged and second second shot line and we paddled back out and then the finder couldn't spot the shaft again. I rough guessed it by the seat of my pants, but it fell to 200'. This shaft is proving to be elusive. We have a good basis for exploration next weekend, and we have some talented divers on board. Should prove interesting! Wish us luck!
