Yesterday we dove, not really diving but snorkeling. Seems in shallow water the guys I hang with prefer snorkeling in shallow waters.Around ten ft. deep.Water temp was 75, winds light and variable overcast but a nice day on the water. Hit what the locals call cheese holes. Small areas of Coral in the middle of the grass patch's. They do look much like swiss cheese full of holes where the critters live. We hit maybe six or so of them most were vacant at the time not surprising considering the amount of traps out there. Hit one looked like cockroach central.along with maybe 12 or more lobsters and a ton of different fish along with a moray ell or two.We were all quite tired by then since we had a healthy current on almost every stop we made. Most of the lobsters seemed to be just under the limit size wise. Measured a few wound up with no keepers. We missed a few bigger guys that scooted deeper into the rock holes. Did mange to get a nice grouper since the season was open until tomorrow. Saw a few lion fish but didn't have a pole spear to kill them. Fun day finished up by doing some beer temp studies. Front moving in today since it's winter here as well may be off the water for a few days. Wish everyone a happy new year from the Florida Keys. Capt. Bill
