Conditions at the beginning of the dive were excellent, vis was 40' on the bottom and even more shallower, as evidenced in my video. I think the "JJ" had ten customers, two on eCCR and the rest OC. Many scallops were collected and at least a half dozen decent sized bugs. This wreck rarely disappoints, and Saturday was no exception. There was current at depth, and the water temps were not too cold at all, tho I never read my temp gauge, I would hazard a guess at mid fifties at depth. This trip was a rare chance to get to a wreck so far offshore, so late in the season. We were all enthusiastic, and none let down. The seas beat sense into us as we headed home, rising 6-8' at short intervals, as we bucked it all the way in. Check out the video, and you will get an idea of how good the vis was and actually approaching blue water! We tied in near the stern, and Capt./Mate Terry Martzall did a fine job in doing so. I personally did a ninety minute dive, and never wanted to leave, and I scootered around checking out the follow divers and mates doing their thing, almost all were hunting, except for Olga Torrey and Larry Cohen, who both were shooting stills. This was Olga's first trip to the wreck! For the techie's I used a GoPro Hero 2 helmet mounted with only a 50 watt HID canister lamp as illumination.
Dive safe and often!
