Had 5 brand new divers to the TUNASEAZURE, all experienced NJ divers.
Hunting was the requested theme with Tog season opening. Quick run out to the reef had us diving before 630am. Water very murky at the surface, barely able to see the next rung on the ladder. Opened nicely on the bottom, maybe 20-25 ft but very dark. I concentrated on Fluke and was able to get one, saw many Tog and some smaller Sea Bass. Water temp was much warmer than just last week at 58*-62* depending on who you asked, but warm none the less.
Dive 2 would brighten up a bit with the sun higher but still dark with the murky surface conditions.
Great day diving with new friends. Haul today would be one 23 in Fluke, one Tog at about 4 lbs and one 2-3 lb Sea Bass. Air temperatures were absolutely obnoxious, a certain somebody was putting ice cubes in their pockets.
Forgot to get pics.........too hot!
Thursday 7/18 "Old Wooden Wreck"
A full boat of the regulars with killing on their minds. Water still a little cloudy at the surface but very good on the bottom. The general consensus was 20-25 ft on the bottom......but one of the divers who shot Gopro footage said later that it was more like 40 ft. Still warm but not as warm as yesterday 55*-56*. A load of Sea bass and bugs today....One Tog.....lots of winter flounder spotted.
Also a very rare Yellow Sea Raven was photographed........really a very fun day!
We were also joined by some new Friends........

Water Temps have really warmed up nicely and Viz has been really good as well. If you want to take advantage of these great conditions give the shop a call @ 610-631-2288
