We would head south today for some killin'. Very nice surface conditions, as they would be for all 4 days of the holiday weekend. Still very cold on the bottom for this time of year at 48* give or take a degree. Great viz 20-25 ft. Loads of fish sited and speared, nothing with any size but a lot of them.
Good day and almost a full boat for the holiday was a bit of a surprise.
Friday 7/5
Today would have me celebrating my 35th birthday and a great day it was. Had only a couple divers today, so we would try some of our smaller snags. Again very good viz in the 20 ft range and cold 49*
First stop low lying wood and very picked over....obviously someone had beat us there recently. Next stop a smaller and lower lying spot....better viz 25+ft some fish but again no size.
Saturday 7/6
"Old Faithful" our favorite southern wreck would not disappoint again!
Lots of very nice Sea Bass, cold...great viz......guess that is starting to sound familiar.
Today we would be visited by a large flying pest "Dragonfly"............other than the pest a great day. Very hot back at the dock!
Sunday 7/7
Today we would visit our favorite Junque yard. Very good viz for this old girl at maybe 10-15 ft
Some Junque was collected....as usual. The first shots at Fluke of the season so far (2 misses)
Other boats at the dock were starting to bring some smaller ones back.
Not particularly superstitious but there was some "Mojo"/"JuJu" today. The biggest "real" dragonfly I ever saw landed on the wheelhouse for a long time to remind us of yesterdays fun.
All in all a very good 4 days of diving with great friends and very good diving conditions as well.
Weather looks good for Friday and even better for Saturday.
We have 2 signed up for Thursday (and hope they can jump over to Friday)
Have one in the book for Friday, have plenty of spots for Saturday and Sunday.
