Today we would visit a wreck that has always been known to produce loads of Sea Bass and today it wouldn't disappoint. After a 20 minute run we got on site to some of the best surface conditions of the season. Surface less than a foot. Vis still cloudy at the surface, but opened nicely as I dropped down for the tie in. As usual Cappy would put us in our normal location and we got tied in post haste. Bottom vis in the 10-15 (some reports of 20 ft) still chilly at 80 ft. Many very large Sea Bass would be had today and at least 4 were over the 4-5 lb range. A couple bugs would round out the pillaging today. One of our regulars who had been out of commission for awhile joined us today and did some killing as well and he felt great to get back in diving again.
There were also some hi jinx with the tie in reported by an unusual suspect...........but as long as he keeps that quiet we won't have to mention the "other thing"
Great day on Lake Atlantic!
It really doesn't get much better than this:

Sunday 6/23 "A digging we will go"
Todays emphasis would be digging on old faithful!
And yet again this Old Girl would give up her booty for those so inclined.
Vis was not bad for this wreck.....maybe 5-10 ft.....but I was told that was too optimistic.
I have seen it "much" worse here!
Colder than I would have expected and not much in the way of "edibles"....one lonely lobster was left in the cooler at days end.
Todays haul would be a good one for the diggers......bunch of spikes with and without the accompanying wood, some cool glass and then there was todays treasure...........a brass hose connection with a date back to the 1800's.....that was just sitting there in the wide open waiting to be found!.
Today would also find some old friends .......there was "SWEET PEA" and believe you me....there is not enough room in my email communication box to allow for the entire explanation...........but lets just say the silver tongued bas___d who it came from will only be anonymous for a short time!
We would also have 2 new friends who joined us for there first TUNA trip and they seemed to have had fun.
Loads of laughs today and another great day of diving and carousing was had by all.
PICS to follow.
We're hoping to run any day we have divers. Currently we have a couple for this upcoming Saturday and one signed up for the 4th.
With the hot weather wilting everyone away I would think getting wet would be a cool way to cool off!
AS ALWAYS:
DIVE SAFE/ DIVE OFTEN
