Our first stop was a little snag wreck just a little South of Manasquan Inlet . Stan was the first one in and quickly found an intact porthole. He did not have any tools with him but said he happen to notice a little glint of glass and found that the porthole was there with a brass backing plate and most of the dogs. When he hit the surface and told me I let him know we had some tools on board if he wanted to try to get it. I went in as the other divers came up and saw the porthole he had found but did not stay long as I was still a little under the weather from being sick during the week. It was intact with glass and all. Not much life on the wreck most likely due to the water temp of about 43 to 45. The vis was a silty 10 to 15.
We stayed to let Stan do a second dive to try and recover the porthole and he had it out and up in about 15 minutes. Oh and did I mention he was diving a wet suit! This guy is an animal.
Next dive we went over to the Sea Girt Reef on the way in and hit the Dykes but it too had little life but Stan once again managed the only items brought up - mussels. I will try and get a picture posted of the port hole . In the picture it is still covered with sea life. When he cleans it up I will post another picture.
