I have a Verizon iPhone 4, about 18 months old, and I wouldn't sell it to anyone.
The button is just about worn out, you have to press it sometimes 8 or 9 times to get it to turn on. In other words, it's worn out.
"Contacts" doesn't sync properly with Microsoft Exchange Server, which is what many companies (mine included) use for email, calendar and contacts. Apple says it's Microsft's fault, Microsoft says it's Apples fault, Verizon says update your roaming firmware and get Fios, and I'm stuck in the middle. If you look on the web, you'll see it's a known issue.
One of the guys in my office has iPhone 4s and uses it with iCloud/Microsoft Outlook and has sync issues as well.
Unless you're collecting old iPhones to use as iBallast in you iWeightBelt, I'd stay away from the iPhone.
The only thing worse than an iPhone is a Used iPhone.
