Wednesday 8/22 Private Charter
With no set destination it was decided to try the Delaware because of the great conditions from the previous weekend.
WOW is all I have to say. The Delaware was until this year a very regular haunt for us, but boy has she changed and all for the better.
After dropping in and descending the Carolina rig you could just make out the white silhouette of the oval shaped, coral encrusted top of the engine. Only once have I seen viz on the wreck anywhere close to today. The general consensus today was 25 - 30 foot but a little dark because of some suspended particulates in the water column. Bottom temps in the upper 50's*. A lot of bugs sited and a far amount boated, a couple Fluke (one very good one) and a couple items of junque (one 1 inch pin about 18-24 inch long and one broken spike) As good as it gets and back in plenty of time for lunch.
Thursday 8/23 Unfinished Business
With everyone having some kind of unfinished business on the Delaware we would again try our luck here today. There was some discrepancies as to the viz, but all were in the very good range. I personally thought about 10-15 ft but there were reports of anything from 10 to 30 ft depending on who you asked. Same upper 50's on the bottom. A couple Fluke (one that had a whole from the previous day) a bunch of Bugs today (as most knew where to look today) and some junque (one un-broken spike and a sole from a woman's shoe (it was tacked and not sewn) The one thing very evident from the past 2 days was how much work some other divers and/or Mother Nature has un-covered. It really doesn't even look anything like I remember and I have dove this wreck many times. It is easy to tell what is recently uncovered as older stuff has the white coral and the freshly un-covered does not. One of the more striking sites was the V shaped keel under the shaft and just how much of the bow has gotten uncovered. What a great day to really appreciate a wreck like this in all its splendor.

Friday 8/24 A Favorite Wooden Wreck down South
We would start the day just after O Dark thirty and have the first diver in the water at 617 AM. Obviously it was a dark dive but the viz would be good at maybe 10-15 ft and again that same ole upper 50's* on the bottom. Today would be Fluke day, as many were boated today. One of our newer friends would get the big one today at nearly 30 inches. A couple bugs and Sea bass would round out the haul today. All in all a great day, with great friends!
Keith with a very nice Fluke ( and her baby, LOL ):

Saturday 8/25 Today we would try for one of our favorite "Digging" wrecks
Well as it turns out this wreck has been known to have less than perfect viz from time to time.......but not today!
And digging will be an oxymoron today............you would have to shoo the fish and bugs away before you could dig!
Same 10-15 ft viz and temps still hovering right below 60*. Many Fluke and bugs today. As it turns out we seem to have a bit more luck when a certain diver is not aboard............(hmmm!) As is usually the case of late there were rumblings of lets try somewhere else, until some of the stringers were aboard......staying was the ticket. Cooler was filled and barely able to close for the ride in and 2 hours later all the fish were cleaned.
Not a bad day today:
