Headed out early to get the jump on the predicted forecast. We ran about 16 miles north of Barnegat to a Barge in about 80'. Surface vis was amazing but dropped down to about 20' on the bottom with a lot of particulate suspended in the water column. Bottom temp was about 56. A few Bugs, 1 tog, 1 large sea bass, and 8 nice fluke came up between 3 divers. After two dives each, we pulled the hook around 2:30 PM and headed for the barn. By the time we left it was a little snotty but the ride home wasn't too bad with a quartering sea off our stern.
Last weekend we ran about 16 miles East of Barnegat with similar bottom conditions. I'm hoping it all settles down as we head into the fall! Howard, we missed you out there last weekend!
