With the very good Fluke fishery this year we haven't spent much time "seeking" Tog
We thought to give that a try today and a visit to my personal favorite was in order. A bunch were spotted and some good ones caught, but no monsters that we have gotten here in the past......saw them but they were very skittish. A couple Fluke had here as well.........there was also a mysterious "large Fluke" in the sand with multiple holes that had fooled nearly everyone aboard. Vis about 20ft and bottom temps in the mid 50's* and very warm under the boat. Capt Bill would decide to try more fertile ground we attempted to try some local wrecks to only find fishing boats on a couple of the ones we wanted to try..........so a run south to one of our productive wooden wrecks would be a destination for dive 2. Viz a little better at maybe 25 ft and brighter with the sun higher in the sky. Temps a little cooler at 53*
Some more Fluke and bugs had here as well. Not a bad day at all.

Sunday 8/12 Sea Girt Reef
With the forecast calling for small craft until 600am we didn't want to venture very far. When we past the jetties things didn't look all that bad. A solid swell at maybe 5 ft but spaced out pretty good as to not get anyone sick. We were greeted at the site by excellent surface vis with grumblings of...."that's the surface"
We would all be very surprised with the viz today. First 10 feet were pretty good, then very cloudy for the next 20-30 ft, and then things opened up very nicely.....maybe 20 ft and a whole lot better than anyone had expected. A bunch of Fluke and Tog today.............and the ocean really laid down by the time we were heading back. Really good to get the day in!

Turns out that our big game hunter found this little bug and couldn't resist bringing him aboard!
