After a very short ride we were on site and getting tied in at "O Dark Thirty" (first guy over at 655am)
Same great viz (15-20+ ft), same great temp (62* bottom/75* hang) Not as good a catch day as we have had but not that bad either.
A couple of our newer hunters would get a good bug each and some others would get a couple more, not too many fish today 5-6 Sea Bass (one nice one 3-4 lbs)
Couple fluke sited but none boated......2 in and back at the dock by 1120am......Niiccceeeeee!
6/24 Tech Class to the Parking Lot
The Conney would be the choice today and not much of a parking lot as we were alone for most of the day until joined by some fishing boats shortly before we would leave. Surface viz not great at all (especially for out there, maybe 3-5 ft) would clear up nicely on the wreck at maybe 15-20ft......Temps would not look anything like the in-shore temps......ranges from 51*-55* on the bottom and low 60's on the hang. 2 very nice bugs and a couple more normal sized ones would get boated. I was very surprised to see very little fish (other than cunners) There was a shark tournament both days and maybe they were chumming the day before and got things stirred up.............There were winter flounder about and they were there in great numbers and very nice size as well. One lone Fluke was spotted (a big one) but no one was able to get him and there was a Monk fish siting but again no one got him either. The main theme for the day was a Tech course and from I saw they all looked very good and looked as if all had a lot of Jersey diving experience. All in all another great day on "Lake Atlantic" (gotta see the pics)
