Saturday the 26th we loaded the vessel "Depth Charge" for a trip to the "Arundo" wreck. We were aware that the "Gypsy Blood" was also bound for her as well. Skies clear, slight breeze but steady as we were out of the inlet. In short order we were sharing the wreck. Sherwood and I tied in and five of us explored the wreck. Bottom temps were about 50 degrees, and vis was 10-15' at most. By the second dive the winds had increased and the seas were getting lumpy. On Sunday, we loaded the "Gypsy Blood" in the very next slot in the marina in Brielle, bound for the "RP Resor", and a six am cast off. Weather looked good and we were on the site quickly. I think there were 14 customers, and there were at least five rebreather divers, and four scooters! The vis wasn't quite as good as when I visited two weeks ago, but everyone had a great time! Bag after bag of scallops were captured, a half dozen lobster at least, mussels. I never saw so many scallops being shucked at one time! The seas stayed calm, in fact, were better as the day wore on. Temps were about 50 degrees again and the second dive the vis improved slightly to 25'. What a fantastic day on the water, with great company and crew! Great job Capts Jim Wilson of the GB and Bill Cleary of the DC!
