Captain Jim Wilson
As we headed out it appeared that NOAA may have had the forecast right this time. Light winds and seas around 2 foot. So off we went, even though Bart was not to be crewing today, he was doing the tie in and as usual, he had us tied in quickly and the pool was open by 7:30am.
It appeared that this was going to be an Artifact day and brass spikes of all types came up along with some brass oil lamp parts. Of course Bart being conservator he is, he cleaned the wreck of the lead as to not contaminate the ocean.
Bottom temp was reported to be between 48 and 55 degrees (This is the beginning of May right?) and the visibility between 10 to 20 feet depending on who you talk to.
As everyone got ready for the second dive we started doing a sun dance because if the sun would come out it would just make the day perfect. This was all that was missing.
Everyone had a good second dive and of course more brass was boated. So we headed in and wouldn’t you know it, as soon as we got in the sun came out and made it a really nice afternoon.
Next weekend we will not be running as my kids are both in a wedding bridal party. So Colleen and I will be there. I hope to see you on the 19th and 20th.
DSAO,
