What a great start to what I hope is an awesome season!
Capt Bill would take us to the "NEW" Gillman's favorite wreck...........
And a great choice I might add.........
After a 25 minute run we were on site in conditions that looked OK. Water appeared a little milky at the surface.
After dropping over (no current to speak of) I was greeted by ever clearing conditions all the way down. My first impression was 20+ ft on the bottom, but the consensus aboard would lean more to 15 ft to 20 ft. The water was stratified 45* top to bottom (you were right Chris).....and that is not bad at all for this time of year. These were the exact temps when we were diving in November. A lot of short bugs sited and one good one boated. Some fish sited , but nothing to talk about and considering there's really nothing to shoot except for Cod or Monkfish..............Conditions were not as good on the surface after dive one and the new flags were really snapping
The Gillman would again unearth a very nice article of Junque'.............woulda been nice to know when I was pulling it up with the anchor!!!!!.....but nice none the less.
Back at the dock a little later than normal but not bad at all at 1PM. Water at the dock was as clear as anyone has seen it.
With this weeks weather conditions continuing to improve, the dive bug should be biting everybody. We had interest in Saturday and Sunday and need a couple both days to confirm we go. Thursday this week looks awesome at 73* (air) and less that 2 ft seas.....just saying.............
You all know the routine, if ya wanna get wet give the shop a call @610-631-2288
Capt was a little disappointed we did not get very much interest in the over nighters for down south. If your interested give Capt Bill a holler and let him know that your interested.
As Always:
DIVE SAFE/ DIVE OFTEN
