This weekend is an away trip for Virginia Beach
on the Miss Lindsey to the Ethel C and Ocean Venture. Local divers found the long forgotten freighter Ethel C in the mid-nineties, nearly thirty-five years after her cargo of scrap metal broke through the hull leading to her demise.
Since that time few trips have ventured back to the site. Numerous portholes, as well as auxiliary steering equipment were found on our last trip to this spectacular dive. The Ocean Venture remains infrequently explored as numerous bars of lead and assorted cargo lay strewn throughout the debris field. (Full)
Some great dives on these shallower local wrecks are open for next weekend. Call the shop to sign up, a few spots remain.
