Saturday the 17th morning 0700 (7:00am) – “No Gills Dive Club” – Kevin Abbot and the “No Gills Dive Club” can be contacted at 609-352-5983
Saturday the 17th afternoon 1500 (3:00pm) – “Dark Water Divers” – This dive is aimed at newer divers but are really for anyone with limited to no North-East experience or anyone for that matter that wants to get in a nice laid back afternoon dive. Mark and Bill will endeavor to make your North-East diving experience a safe, fun and memorable one. The dives are normally done on one of the easier to dive wrecks on the artificial reef in about 65’ of water. Contact Mark at 862-251-3612
Sunday the 18th – Atlantic Divers – Stolt 130’ - The Stolt is always a great dive, far enough off-shore that there is almost always good visibility. Built in 1955 as the Dagali “Stolt” being the name of the shipping line that owned her. Sank Thanksgiving day November 26th 1964 in a collision with the Israeli passenger liner “Shalom”. Gene at Atlantic Divers can be reached at 609-641-7722
Next Week
Saturday the 24th – Tridents - & Fish 100> - The Tridents will again be back with their unique brand of diving. Actually they have quite a number of Saturday dives right through October. As usual we will be tied in for only one and be doing “buoy dives” for the rest of the day. This allows me to visit numerous small lobster snags in a single day. Bret can be reached at 973-876-5896
Sunday the 25th – Lakeland Divers – Tolten 100’ - Despite being a neutral Chilean ship, the Tolten was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine early in the war. The U-boat crews called this period of the war "the Happy Time", since their marauding off the U.S. coastline went almost completely unopposed. The Tolten was actually the Danish ship Lotta, which was taken over and renamed by the Chilean government after Denmark fell to the Germans. After the war the U-boat captain admitted that in the dark he could not tell what ship he was firing on. The U-404 sank the Lemuel Burrows another wreck we’ve visited off of Atlantic City. Lakeland still has a few spots left and can be reached at 973-887-0194
