Well.....we almost got out on a boat dive yesterday (Tuesday/Election Day), but the trip got cancelled Monday....not for lack of divers....but the damn weather!!!
My buddy and I didn't want to waste a dayoff from work, so we tried something completely new and different....for us anyway. We tried a shore dive to a local wreck off of Spring Lake. Unfortunately, the surf was very rough, and we couldn't get past the breakers....we both almost had heart attacks just lugging all our gear, donning all our gear, and getting tossed around in the surf like a leaf in an Autumn Nor'easter. Someone should have been on the boardwalk with a camcorder....it must have been hilarious watching two grown middle aged men getting bounced around before we both thought it wiser to call the dive....
This is what the surf looked like yesterday morning at high tide...
