I dove out of Sheepshead Bay because a) I HAD to get out after 5 blowouts in a row and b) they were running a beginner special and I was diving with someone who was doing her first ocean dive.
In any case, we originally tied into a sunken bridge inshore. The mate described it as zero feet visibility so we moved to some sunken dockage in 90' of water about an hour out of the inlet. The mate reported 10 to 15...not bad, right? It wasn't braille diving, but it was close. The combination of really low viz, plus lots and lots of silt, plus a really dirty wreck that silted up quickly left most of the newbies on board hugging the anchor line.
I HATE when fish and lobster have an advantage because you can't see them! LOL Bottom temp was a toasty 68.
