I think that the greatest point of failure is by far the regulators. So IMHO 2 regulators on an h-valve is a pretty good way to go for dives where one tank makes sense. I have thought about it as a good way to alternate between doubles and a single tank without having to reconfigure hoses each time. But,I never got around to buying an h-valve and now I only have doubles so, no need. You could also carry a stage bottle with 50% in it which you could use at 70 feet. This could serve as further redundancy and as deco.
