For the purposes of "technical diving/training" it is. NAUI Tech training calls for the use of doubles or a single tank with an H valve. Air share and use of 1/3's being the bailout for same and running out of air being frowned upon.
Do I agree? I believe it can have its place and purpose in shallow diving (inlets....railroad bridge..... training) Personally.....I dive doubles or w/ a pony.
