These were acquired by Wisconsin Central when that regional bought the Algoma Central in the 1990s (now all in CN's family). They had limited use on the WC after the Algoma's ore hauling business faded, so they were rebuilt with new doors to make them good for dumping ballast. During the winter when MOW projects are limited, the cars are used on a seasonal ore move from the Minorca pellet plant near Virginia, Minnesota to the port of Escanaba on Lake Michigan. Usually run January-March.
