My stinky mom was using the lightweight version of a clumping litter called Fresh Step. After about a year, it turned the white ceramic floor in the litterbox room black even though mom swept the litterbox room floor about a hundred times per day. She finally got down on her hands and knees recently and scrubbed the floor until it turned almost white again (although it will never be the same). As of last week, mom has gradually switching my litter to The World's Best Cat Litter. (Here is a safe link for it: http://bit.ly/2v4XBcB/
.) Mom doesn't have any idea yet if I will decide to use it when my real cat litter isn't in the litterbox anymore. She hopes I will. But, yeah, a vacuum cleaner wouldn't help the problem you described. Mom uses a handheld canister type of Oreck which she got for about $30 at a discount store and which is fine, but it's not the answer, unfortunately. I wish I had better news for you.
