Thanks again FilmZealot! As for Maris's transformation from waif to wow! it could simply be, since her divorce from Niles, Maris has had time to think, eat and learn how to walk in heels.
This leaves the door open for a romantic envolvement with a newly smitten Frasier-thus, causing a rift between the highly competitive brothers-thus, causing a rift between Niles and Daphne-all leading to a dueling ice goddesses grudge match between Maris and a visiting Lilith. Overall, I feel this idea deserves a chance.
