New growth is forming on this in-ground TEA OLIVE, Osmanthus fragrans 'Fudingzhu'. Since these plants flower on newer growth, I could get a brief spring bloom spell, from this normally
fall and winter bloomer, in the South (although the Fudingzhu cultivar can bloom nearly year'round)...

If anyone has ever seen, a Japanese RED BARBERRY, Berberis thunbergii, in early spring, you have seen a beautiful plant. The leaves are a bright deep red (more vivid than the rest of the season, before anoother fall color change)!
The red berries, after some tiny yellow blooms, later in the season are also a nice addition...

This CHRISTMAS BERRY, Ardisia crenata, purchased from Woodlanders, several years ago, has turned out to be a great subtropical, growing in the Upper Midwest. It is still sporting some ripe berries from last fall, giving it Christmas colors, IN SPRING, here! Anybody else growing this low growing subtropical?
