I'm referring to the big silver maples in my yard. My car was completely covered in sap, this morning, overnight! I'm pretty sure that farms, further north in Michigan, the Northeastern States, and Canada, are tapping sugar maple trees, for sap, to make maple syrup.
EVERGREEN ferns, anyone?
This fern went through January's -3F minimum, along with snow and ice, unscathed. This fern is HART'S TONGUE FERN, Asplenium scolopendrium.
I think this is an example of a solidly hardy z6 evergreen plant...

I lifted the styrofoam rose cone from over a Wall o Water, surrounding this live oak seedling. This is a Western US native variety of live oak, commonly referred to as, hybrid INTERIOR LIVE OAK, Quercus wislizenii. Anybody else growing any other live oak species, than Quercus virginiana ?

Here is a plant I set out, in spring 2023. The plant is commonly known as, PINK ESCALLONIA, Escallonia fradesii. It seems to have made it through a z6 winter. Anybody else growing this evergreen shrub, in their garden?

Here is a close up, of one of the stems of my ALABAMA SNOW WREATH, Neviusia alabamensis, plant. This plant is native to the U.S. South. Yet, as you can see, it is fully hardy, here, after actual z6 temps, and the buds are getting anxious to burst open. Anybody else posting here, growing this plant? It gets no protection, at all. I have had it for several years....
