Lloyd, I know you stay busy a lot on your farm and at work but you and your wife have incredible property and plats and that arid garden is beyond anything I've ever seen. Its amazing the plants you have found that will do great in your area.
It's not been real bad this winter but schools were shut down for 2 weeks and I've hit zero (or below) maybe twice and snow totals were about a foot and that's in the upper south. This area isn't tropical at all and many areas of the south are the same. We just tend to warm up sooner and hope we don't get a spike.
It's going to be very cold here this weekend. I hope I can get above freezing today and tonight I will have to turn on the mini lights because it will be in the upper teens to low 20*s at best.
Spring is definitely on its way in. El Niņo is dying out in the pacific and we are transitioning into a neutral stage and we might start seeing violent spring storms in the next 6 weeks as La Niņa settles in and it could be a problem in Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Iowa, Kentucky and here.
We're getting there friend. Thanks for the compliment but your hard work is best noted. Love your place in NW Iowa.
