Well Fred, if I knew someone really well who grew figs, I wouldn't try to grow them myself. I would offer to relieve their tree of the messy fruit. LOL!
I'm allergic to fig sap, so have to really watch it carefully when trimming or brushing up against any broken leaves and stems. Fruit doesn't bother me at all.
