Actually, we didn't get any of that snow that hit the immediate coastal areas last week. It was like the normal winter weather pattern in Virginia was reversed for that event. The ground was basically bare here throughout the Arctic outbreak except for a couple of brief light snows that hit while I was in Delaware. However, there was no measurable accumulation with them either. The lack of snow on the ground probably saved us from the crazy lows they experienced to the east in places like Chesapeake Virginia and Greenville NC. I'm not sure if we've had more than an inch or two at the most this season. Certainly there hasn't been any to shovel.
Currently, our coldest days in the forecast are tonight and tomorrow night with lows in the low teens. Our forecast lows during the mid week are in the mid teens. I hope it stays that way.
