Why did you cut the roots off Tony ?
Did you just trim them some?
Go back and place the root area in a heavyduty garbage bag and throw in some soil and a little Guinea fowl manure if you have any and water a little each month and keep it above 32*
I think you will be OK, Good Luck Tony, sounds like an awesome palm. I cut the spears back also.
I will cover mine this weekend outside. We are expecting sunny and mid 70*'s all weekend and I can finally get something done before its too late.
