Well, my all time favorite teacher came today to visit and look around the backyard. He was in heaven!!! I think he might even have gotten the hardy palm and subtropical bug while here. No, I did not let him go home empty handed!!!! Quite a few bunch of seeds and a couple potted plants. He even brought me an agave he picked up from NM a few weeks ago!!! Agave ferdinandi-regis!?!?!? Nice looking agave, but I don't know a thing about it, yet!!!
Just thought I would share the highlight of my fall with you folks. He made the most lasting impression on me then any other teacher I ever had.
You would not believe what all he has done since teaching and how he is living his life now. Lives on Monteagle mountain on a 1200 acre land trust with a few other people!!! Off the electrical grid and only uses solar and passive solar heat, but does have a propane back up... Will be travelling to his place come spring for sure!!!
Here is a link to his website. Sells some of his artwork as supplement income.
