Moving on up - protection wise - Washingtonia Robusta with Photo

This palm has outgrown the garbage can method should we have a bad winter. Im using two 55 gallon drum barrels. All ends removed. Inserted over the trunk and filled with hard chip mulch. A top lid will be removed on warm days and perhaps a towel wrap over the crown spear to collect moisture which will be removed to air out on warm days. No heat needed if sealed off good. wish me luck , its a new mode. Planted a smaller replacement nearby just in case.
