Im now leaning toward using 55 gallon disposible drum containers for Washingtonia Trunk Protection in my relentless and horrible winter (
)
In the past I used the largest Trash Cans I could find and was up two 3 last year. My question is how can I attache them end to end? The ends would cut cut out so I could sleeve it over the cigar shaped trunk. My only hurdle is the palm has an 6%-8% lean and this leaves a barren area on the bottom back side of the trunk but deep pilings of mulch have helped that in the past.
BTW , the 55 gallon cylinders will be filled with hard chip mulch as in the past with NO HEAT SOURCE. This has worked for 10 years through some z5b lows so it should continue to work.
Any ideas I attaching these barrels together is appreciated.
MUCHO RAIN AGAIN TODAY. unbelievable
