Randy that stretch of real estate in the Cleveland Greenway is very impressive.
You did all the work , anyone can donate a plant here or there however, in time this will be the showcase of The Cleveland Greenway.
You should be very proud of this . It may not seem like much now but you know what palms do..lol..
they grow and enchant people.
I also have had extremely fast growth with Sabal var. Birmingham , could this be the long lost native palm of Tennessee ? ..lol..
I got two from Tony Avent before he released his Birm's for sale in his catalog...4 or 5 years ago?
well one is waist high and the other chest high and the bigger one is actually trunking.
This is unreal for this species. They arent mine anymore and the past winter weather that took out 2 mature large windmills and a large sabal palmetto did not damage those Birminghams here in the highlands. Expect that Birmingham to continue its amazing growth.
I wish you had posted this about a month ago because I cleared out a long bed of Stella de Oros and the neighbors planted about 25 settings.
I could have donated them . It may be a year or two before I can get that much more.
That daylilly would be nice there but Lantana could flourish without the watering and bloom till frost. The Stella de Oros do have slack periods but Lantana would be nice.
The dwarf pampas grass of Cortaderia selloana known as : Cortaderia selloana 'Pumila'
is an awesome grass and has been blooming here since early July , it dosent get as invasive as the larger type and emits those beautiful large flumes in early july and they have a visual interest all through winter.
I might could get you about 4 one gallon starts in the early spring in you would like to try that next season. Its hard to get a hold of. Cincy Frank sent me mine years ago in a trade for an olive tree and a few other nic nacks..lol.
If I ever get to Cleveland , thats my first stop..lol.
Thanks Randy for posting this ,Im proud to see a community embrace this.
