I have a problem with my transmission where it randomly downshifts and quickly upshifts and then will keep repeatedly shifting if given the right amount of gas while going up a hill. On hills, the car may shift 6-8 times while going up the hill. It only seems to do it on semi steep hills. I don't even have the kickdown lever hooked up so i'm confused as to why its doing it? The car is a 78 cougar with a C4 and its a recent problem and the car is driven on a semi regular basis.
