Are you sure you need to wided the quarters? I've found, just by getting the right off-set wheel, you can get some VERY WIDE tires under these cars, just need to get the off-set of the wheel going in towards the car, lot's of room. I know a guy that has a 72 Torino wagon [same frame and wheel wheel as the cougar] and he's running some of those huge pro street wheels and tires, and it's all inside the wheel lip.
