Hi Steven, like I told Ron in the post below your's, it's hard to diagnose a problem over the internet, hell it's hard enough when it's here in the shop on the sun scope, LOL........ Anyway, it could be running rich, and choking the motor, but the other thing I would check is the timing and timing curve. With a set-up like your's, you'd want the timing advance to come in soon, and probably be at total advance 34-36 by 2,500 rpm.... I set mine up to 16 degrees at idle, and a total of 32-36, and be totally advanced at 2,500 rpm.... I don't think a stall convertor is going to help this problem, and with those 3;55 gears, it should be very peppy at any speed....
