Hi Ron, well thats a tough question to answer without the car being here to check over and put on my sun scope machine....... I recurve my own dist. and set them at 16 idle timing and have them max out at 32-34 at 2,500 rpm and I only use the mechanical advance not the vacuum. You really need to find out if this a not enough gas problem or a timing or ingnition problem. It could also be the brain box, o the coil pick-up in the dist..... Just to many possabilties to advise over the internet. I also delete all the smog system and vacuum lines, I'm OLD SCHOOL, at least that way you get rid of alot of possible problems.... You can keep posting symptoms and what you've done and I'll give you my best guess, and I'm sure others will chime in with their thoughts. EJ
