Jon,
I had the same problem on my 1977 XR7. I bought my springs from Performance Suspension Technologies since I was told Moog didn't have an XR7-specific spring and PST had the specific part, and I was unaware of the XR7 being unique (other springs can be used of course). Not only that, but my car has a 460 swap and no A/C.
When the springs were installed, it sat way up in the front, but I drove it like that for a bit to see if it would settle. It didn't, unfortunately. The springs were then cut a coil which did give it a nice "rake" profile, but the passenger side coil had to be collapsed some with a torch (not always recommended btw) to get it down to the driver's side level. The only downside to this is that the combination of coil cutting and collapsing may have left the car with an uneven braking dive i.e. it tends to turn a bit to the side under hard braking conditions. Of course, a worn out center link doesn't help that either. ![]()
