I've never been stuck in the snow with mine for the last 15 years. You'll have to run a skinny tire, the wider the tire, the sorst they are in the snow. More tire area to push thru the snow with a wide tire. I run a 225/75R15, and my white letter tires are 235/70R15. Pretty much average gas mileage with all my cars is, 17-18 Highway, and 14-15 city. My old green one with 400,000 miles will sometimes get 20 on the highway, but that's because the drivetrain is so worn out, runs and rolls easy. You'd probably do better on your gas mileage if you'd keep your foot out of the 4v, LOL. But those 3;50 gears will deffinatly hurt. On the side windows, the xr-7's 1/4 window, front and rear edges run parallel to each other up and down and the base model window gets wider at the bottom, so that means the rear edge runs farther towards the back of the car as it comes down. Hard to notice, unless you have them sitting side by side, or have a close up pic of each window. I never knew it either, until I had my two cars sitting side by side.
