Ben Avon was a favourite area for search (of crystals), and at the Meikle Eas burn on its southern slopes are the remains of mining works which were active about 1800. At an altitude of 2,800 feet, these works employed about 30 miners.

Does anybody have a copy of the article in the Cairngorm club journal they could email me, or can somebody identify the 'Meikle Eas' burn or the old camp by grid referrence. thanks Chris
