I am currently undertaking research into the life of James McRory-Smith who lived for over 30 years at Strathchailleach Bothy, to the north of Sandwood Bay. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who may have come across James - who was also known as Sandy - over the years. He moved into the bothy in the early 1960s and remained in residence until 1994, when ill-health forced him to leave for a caravan at Kinlochbervie. Factual information and anecdotes are equally welcome...
