Posted by Elaine Duncan I bought pair of Black Diamond crampons last July, 2006. Used once in Ecuador for Cayambe and Cotopaxi. Concerned that the spikes are rusting already. Did take care to clean and use WD 40 on return from trip, end August 2006 but even before getting them home the coating was off them and rust formed. Surely this not normal so early? Any advice?
